Random Pictures: Summer 2015 Edition

Fall isn't technically here yet but since Nathan started school, we'll call it the end of Summer for now
(even though there will be some more Summer type pictures in the near future).  Here are some pictures that were taken during this past Summer but they didn't quite make it to the other posts.
So, bring on the randomness!

Nathan insisted on having this picture taken.
Since Daddy always takes pictures, some photo requests from the little guy is always welcome.

There is no rest for wicked little sharks.  No rest.

There's going to be a shark attack soon.

Give him some space.  The Superhero Masher just woke up.

Going Banana crazy for the Minions movie.

He's here to pump....you out!

Singing Happy Birthday at his friend's Penny party.

Alongside Spiderman looking for villains in the unknown world.

A couple of troublemakers up to no good inside a comic store.

Introducing: Mr. Peabody the time travelling dog.

Getting serious in this picture with his cousin Angelina and Grandpa Tony.

Acknowledging his favorite donut place in Austin: Mrs. Johnson's Bakery.

Smiling....at the Car Wash!

A BBQ'd Hot Dog makes the world go round!

Little Batman pulling jokes all of a sudden.

Typical late night popcorn movie pose!

There is always enough time for splash pads.

"Take that, water!"

Water going for the kill.

Don't mess with this kid.  He is considered armed and dangerous.
One move and his sword will light up and make a sound (providing the battery isn't empty).

Panic at the Alamo!

At Home Slice Pizza pouring lots of cheese and lots of cheese.

A kid and his pizza.

Choosing a birthday cupcake for his mom.

The words on the window says it all.

At his new school.

Meeting Mrs. Cottrell and his classroom during Meet the Teacher Night.

Local Ice Cream Delight!

And now, we have the first day of Kindergarten.
A new chapter begins......

...but the silliness still remains.

Bat Fest 2015

Nathan went to his first Bat Fest yesterday to celebrate Austin's favorite flying creature.
Here are some pictures and more.

Daddy and Nathan taking a pedicab on the way to Bat Fest in downtown Austin.

Arriving and seeing the bat madness!

Local bat vendor initiating the bat kid!

Nathan met a friend.  He named it: Little.  That's literally the name he gave it.
Little the Bat!

Nathan wanted a picture showing Little's shadow.

Trying to find a spot to watch the bats come out at dusk.

Thousands of people gathering for the famous Congress bridge bats.

The bats never fully came out because of all the noise and music from the fest.  They were peeking out from underneath the bridge so Nathan got to see them for a bit.

Some frozen yogurt treat after waiting a while for the bats.

Nathan spotted bat bike racks from afar
so the Bat Kid and Little the Bat got a closer look.

At home, Bat Kid turns into Batman and makes his batcave right in the living room.

Batman watching his movie in bat fashion: upside down.
This little bat is one happy camper!

Barton Creek Greenbelt Explorer

Nathan and Daddy went to the Barton Creek Greenbelt
for the first time together for an unexpected long hike and for some good water time.

At the entrance, unprepared for the long journey ahead.

Hiking it up!

The little hobbit roaming the land.

After 15 minutes, Daddy and Nates reached Twin Falls.
This was supposed to be the spot to swim but
most of the water was gone.  Just a few weeks ago, it was full.

Daddy and Nates continued on the trail looking for the next area.

After almost an hour, the sign for Sculpture Falls was spotted.

Sculpture Falls

A fish testing the waters.

The joy of his journey is finally happening.

Can't stop the fish once he gets going.

On the prowl searching for other fishes.

Father and Son relaxing in the water.

Nates found a magic shell.  Now what?

Cracking shell time!

Something silly this way comes!

Exploring more of the creek.

Looking for the unknown.

All about rocks.

Sliding down to cool off some more.

Last few minutes in the water before the long walk back.

The journey back to the car begins.

Once at the car, the worn out explorer knocks out within minutes.
Another successful outdoor adventure for the books (and for his blog too).

The End!
